The garage years
The original CheckMate™ concept took shape as a dependable roller-based alternative to temperamental brushes and flap stripers.
Don't see your mower listed? Call us—we can fit the CheckMate™ to most mowers on the market.
Big League Lawns began with a simple idea: lawn striping should be easier, more dependable, and capable of producing a better-looking stripe.
In the 1990s, our owner began working out of his garage in search of a better lawn-striping solution. The brushes and flap-style stripers available at the time could be finicky, inconsistent, and difficult to depend on.
He believed a roller-based system could be simpler to use, more durable, and produce far better stripes. That pursuit became CheckMate™—a free-floating lawn striper built around solid-rubber rollers and model-specific mounting solutions.
What began in a garage continued to grow—first through a better product, then through larger facilities capable of supporting more customers and more mower-specific solutions.
The original CheckMate™ concept took shape as a dependable roller-based alternative to temperamental brushes and flap stripers.
Big League Lawns moved into a larger facility, giving the business more space to manufacture and support a growing line of lawn stripers.
We quickly outgrew the 2010 facility and moved again—this time into a larger, more sophisticated operation built for the next stage of growth.
After outgrowing that facility as well, we moved into our largest and most sophisticated location yet, where our team continues to build and support CheckMate™ products today.

We know the details matter—from choosing the correct mounting system to recommending a roller width that produces a better stripe and stays maneuverable around landscaping.
That practical experience shapes the products we build and the help we provide before and after every order.
CheckMate™ products are designed to stay useful long after installation day.
Mower frames and mounting points differ. We focus on matching the product and hardware to the actual machine.
The best roller is not always the width customers expect. We recommend the size that produces the best result.
When a question is unusual, our team works through the mower, mounting system, and intended use to find the right answer.
